Parker: Buckskin Mountain State Park: This park sits on the Arizona side of the Colorado River. It has one of the best views along the Parker strip, that runs from Parker Dam to Headgate Dam. Mountains line the river on both the Arizona and California side of the river. Hiking trails and water sports are available. The RV park is very nice, the climate is good and the facilities are top notch. The sign on the highway usually says "full", however we have found that they leave the sign up most of the time. If you want to eat out the casino at Parker isn't far away. We spent Thanksgiving in the park in 2008 on the way from Lake Havasu to Quartzsite.

November 2008.............
Parker: Desert Bar (Nellie E Saloon) - It's in the Buckskin Mountains on land that was an old mining camp, five miles off the highway on the Cienega Springs Road ( a dirt tract in the desert). There is no sign where you turn off, but it's at the end of the 4 lane about 5 miles out of Parker. The owner found an old liquor license, from an old business, on leased river land. The bar opened in 1983. There are now several buildings there and his house. It's also open on New Year’s Eve (if it falls on a weekend). They serve hamburgers and have music - when we were there the music was from the family and the kids cooked the hamburgers - the food was bad and the music as bad, however it's still a neat place to go. We always have a four wheel drive and never have any trouble, however we've seen cars in there also.
