August 2009 ...........

Tennessee: A wonderful state to visit with so much to see and do. The Great Smoky Mountain National Park is a reminder of how the country use to be, driving through one almost envision the old days. Cades cove is a place not to miss. We have visited there several times and we can't find the photos, so just go and enjoy! Laurel's son, Doug and wife lived in Pigeon Forge and had a wonderful log cabin in the mountains. They plan to return to the area and retire one day. The heading photo was taken at the turn off to start up the mountain to the kids house.

Nashville: It doesn't matter if you're a country music fan or not, Nashville is a town to see. There is so much history and so many nooks and crannies to dig into. Our favorites were the Ryman Auditorium and The General Jackson Showboat. The Red Neck Statistic was on a t-shirt hanging in a store window. Sorry, just couldn't resist.
