July 2008 .........
New Ulm: It was started by a group of German immigrants in 1854. The name was selected because many of the people were from a Province in Germany where New Ulm was the principal city. It's 90 miles southwest of the Twin Cities in the scenic Minnesota River Valley. It's famous for it's German heritage and is known as the "Most German City in the USA". It's a good place for a quick stop, we went out of our way to go there, got there early on Sun, walked around a bit, ate breakfast at a small local cafe and went on down the road. It has many neat buildings and shops.
